Uploading Pictures

Information - F A Q

Uploading Art to the Gallery.

To add your art to the gallery, first sign in. On the left hand side you will see "add artwork" select this to open a page to upload your work. if you wish to have extra categories in your gallery choose, my categories and add a category. The name of a new category will need to be approved before it is published. this may take a while.

Common reason for problems with uploads.

  • Pictures should be jpeg format.Other file formats are not supported.
  • The file should have no odd characters, spaces or symbols in the title, letters and numbers only please..
  • File size should be no more than 2000 KB in size (that's about 2 Mb). The site is free and we cannot afford to give away the huge space that other sites do. (plus the image won't be shown any larger than that, so its unnecessary to use larger files.)

If you have any other problem please contact me, via my admin page.

How does the Artist List Work?

Information - F A Q

Why do some artist rank higher than others?

The artist list rank is based on three factors. Points, visitors, Loging in,

Points = Ranking

The primary factor is your art-fine-gallery points, these points are awarded for helping the site.

You get 1 point for joining the gallery and filling out at least 200 words about yourself, and 1 point for the first time you add art to the gallery. You get a point for your first forum post, and a point for each rank in the forum. You get points for writing good articles. donating funds, getting links to the site and receiving high karma scores from fellow artists.

Visitors

The second ranking factor is the number of page views you have had.

Logging in

Finally if all else is equal, artists who log in often rank higher than those that don't

Artist Written Articles

The Arts-fine-gallery Site, was set up by the artist Samuel Durkin. The project is for it to be artist driven. For artists to come together to promote themselves, and in doing so promote each other. As well as displaying artwork. Artists are able to write helpful and interesting articles. each article links to the authors own page. Writing an article that gives useful information about art gives a reason for people to visit the site, and promotes the artist who wrote it.

How to guides, Art histories, Biographies, and Art show and exhibition and Artist reviews.
