Artist Written Articles
The Arts-fine-gallery Site, was set up by the artist Samuel Durkin. The project is for it to be artist driven. For artists to come together to promote themselves, and in doing so promote each other. As well as displaying artwork. Artists are able to write helpful and interesting articles. each article links to the authors own page. Writing an article that gives useful information about art gives a reason for people to visit the site, and promotes the artist who wrote it.

Different types of articles, and how to get them accepted.
How to guides.
These are best written in an short easy to follow step by step way. You can use them to describe techniques you have learnt or a process you went though to create one of your own pieces,
- First make a heading that sets out the idea for your guide. This should be 3 -7 words long and should include important keywords.
- Then write a short piece that describes the articles intent in more detail.
- next move to a step by step guide. Usually this should be no more than 10 points.
- Make descriptive headings for each step, format them as "heading 2
Personal Art History
If you have a favourite artist who influenced you, an artist or art movement you know something about. Write about how the influences of other artists has moulded your own art.
- Title the essay to include the artist or movement, as well as what it may be about.
- The first couple of paragraphs should describe what the essay will be about.
- This kind of article should also be broken down into sections, with headings.
- Normally 3-4 sections with about 50-200 words.
- The article flow should be a beginning middle and an end.
Artist Biographies.
Write about yourself , your personal journey, and where you are going. This should usually be less than 500 words.
Shows and exhibitions
Do you know of a show that's coming up, or have you been to one recently. Write about the show, tell us about the art and the artist. the space, the attendance, what you think about the art. Be critical, but fair, give praise where it's due and be balanced in what you have to say.
Artist Reviews.
Write about an artist (or art-movement) whose work you have seen,
- Start out with a descriptive heading
- Give us some history or background about the artist,
- Then us what you think of their work. Be constructive.
- Analyse what is is about the work you like, or don't like, search inside yourself for how to effects you.
- Write about how it meets or fails to meet your own tastes.
- Then tell us how you feel they will develop or where you feel they are going.
- Mention anything relevant about them
Art Blogs
Just write something interesting about your life as an artist. What did you do today, what are you planning to do? How are you feeling, and what's driving your art right now.
All Articles
should be around 200-600 words long, and they are moderated by the sites editors*.
*To become an editor you should have written a number of articles for the site to show you understand what's required.
