I know all about it ,at the moment im painting a 32x40 i have become distracted by its overwhelming prescence. Its a leviathan of missmatched ideas, it is the arsehole of hell. but i know if i carry on with it on its presnt course
i will quicken its finale and worsen its content, just for the mere release from its frustratingly awkward grip.I know patiance is a vertue, but im bored of its mighty flatulance. What to do what to do?big ideas on big canvas, doesnt work!...

The last painting I did (Blueberry Woods) went horribly wrong too...I was trying to paint a forest of bluebells in a semi realistic style...it just didnt come together at all so i decided to take out a pallette knife and went a little crazy...Eventually i was realy happy with the outcome...not what I expected it to turn out like at all, but the change of tools did the job...I think...

What works for me personally is sitting on the sofa, with the unfinished painting leant against the sideboard across the room, stare at it till I see something new to add to its progression then proceed. I do this every single morning without fail; lucky mistakes are there to spot and improve upon.
